Troubleshooting common Dainvo issues

This guide covers common issues during the beta period.

A popup is open and I want to create something else

Click another calendar area or another calendar item. Dainvo should close the current popup and open the new one for the place you clicked.

Events and task blocks open in compact popups. If the right details panel is open, selecting a bucket opens that bucket in the panel.

A task or bucket is hidden

Check Settings > Tasks. Dainvo Tasks and synced tasks can be hidden from lists and calendar surfaces. Turning visibility back on does not recreate anything; it only shows existing tasks again.

Also check calendar visibility in the calendar sidebar. A bucket assigned to a visible calendar follows that calendar visibility. Buckets without a synced calendar remain Dainvo bucket items.

A connected account is not updating

Try Sync now first. If that does not help, use Reconnect for that account in Settings > Integrations.

Disconnected or read-only calendars can still appear, but editing may be blocked.

If Dainvo says another connection is already in progress, finish or close that provider sign-in before trying again. If the browser callback address is busy, close the other Dainvo sign-in window or app using the callback and retry.

A connected service says permissions are missing

Use Reconnect and approve the requested permissions. Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Microsoft Calendar, Microsoft To Do, Outlook Email, Zoom, and Webex each require permission for the specific data Dainvo syncs.

If a work or school Microsoft account says admin approval is required, ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to allow the Dainvo app permissions. Send them Approve Dainvo in your organization — it has the app ID, permissions, and consent steps for both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

The Linux app says key storage is unavailable

Dainvo uses your desktop keyring to protect sign-in data and the local database key. If you installed Dainvo from the Snap Store, connect its password-manager interface and restart the app:

sudo snap connect dainvo:password-manager-service

An unmanaged Snap can continue in reduced-security mode when no usable keyring is available and its existing encrypted data can still be opened safely. If Dainvo still reports unavailable key storage, unlock or repair KWallet, GNOME Keyring, or your desktop's Secret Service, then restart Dainvo. Dainvo does not downgrade an existing OS-keyring-protected database key or bypass a missing key for an encrypted database, because either change could make existing data inaccessible.

Apple Calendar will not connect

Apple Calendar uses your Apple Account email and an app-specific password. Use the password generated at account.apple.com, not your normal Apple Account password.

CalDAV will not connect

Check the server URL, username, and app password required by your calendar service. Dainvo requires a web server URL that starts with http or https. Dainvo also rejects server URLs that point to localhost or private-network addresses, so use your provider's public CalDAV address.

A meeting service is unavailable

Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams depend on account permissions. Google Meet requires a Google Calendar connection. Microsoft Teams requires a Microsoft account with Outlook Calendar enabled.

Obsidian tasks or Daily Notes are missing

Confirm the Dainvo Task Manager plugin is installed and enabled in Obsidian. If pairing expired, reopen Connect Obsidian in Dainvo and paste the new bridge URL and pairing code into the Obsidian plugin settings.

If checkbox tasks are missing, run Sync now and confirm the vault is open and readable in Obsidian. If blank checkbox tasks are missing, check Settings > Tasks and confirm blank Obsidian tasks are not hidden.

If Obsidian Daily Notes are unavailable, confirm Daily Notes are enabled for the paired vault in Dainvo and that Obsidian's Daily Notes core plugin is configured.

If Live Preview cannot display a link or embed, confirm the target still exists inside the paired vault and is a supported note, image, audio file, or PDF. Unsupported attachments remain openable in Obsidian.

An invitation or overdue task is missing from Inbox

For a missing invitation, sync its calendar account and refresh Inbox. The event must be upcoming, identify your connected account as an attendee, and still need your response. If its calendar is hidden, show the calendar before trying to focus the event.

For a missing overdue task, confirm the task is open, its due date or deadline is before today, its provider is visible in Settings > Tasks, and Show overdue tasks in Inbox is enabled. A task you dismissed stays hidden for that current overdue date or deadline.

Weather or time-zone display looks wrong

If weather is missing, confirm calendar weather is enabled and a weather location is selected in Settings > Calendar. Weather appears in day, week, and agenda/list views.

If the calendar day starts at the wrong time, confirm the current calendar time zone in Settings > General. If the hover comparison is missing, confirm Show timezone quick view on calendar is enabled.

A linked bucket file is missing

Dainvo stores references to linked files and folders. It does not copy them. If a linked item moved, open the bucket Contents list, use the item's menu, and choose Relink.

Part of the app is still in English

Check Settings > General > App language. If it is set to System default, Dainvo follows the language reported by your operating system. If the system language is not supported yet, Dainvo uses English.

Dainvo does not translate your event titles, task titles, bucket names, account names, connected-service names, sign-in pages, or help-center article language. If an app-owned button, label, dialog, notification, or error still appears in English after you select another supported language, contact support through dainvo.com and include the selected language and screen name.

A bucket has the wrong calendar

Edit the bucket and choose the correct calendar. Dainvo keeps the bucket as the main item. If the bucket has a calendar copy, Dainvo replaces that copy when the calendar changes.
