Todoist integration

Todoist lets Dainvo show and update Todoist tasks alongside Dainvo Tasks and calendar blocks.

What syncs​

Dainvo can sync Todoist tasks, projects for task organization, due dates, completion state, labels, priority, and supported task updates.

Todoist projects are used for Todoist filtering and selection. They are not the same as Dainvo Projects, which are currently disabled.

Scheduling a Todoist task on the Dainvo calendar creates Dainvo planning blocks. Moving a Todoist due-date block keeps that block as Dainvo planning time instead of rewriting the Todoist due date.

Manage projects from Dainvo​

Open the project picker in the task sidebar to create, rename, or delete Todoist projects. The Todoist Inbox cannot be renamed or deleted, and deleting a project also deletes its tasks in Todoist.

Subtasks​

Right-click a Todoist task in the sidebar and choose Add subtask to create a child task under it. Subtasks sync to Todoist and nest under their parent in both apps.

Install​

  1. Open Settings > Integrations.
  2. Choose Connect Todoist.
  3. Sign in to Todoist in the browser.
  4. Approve Dainvo's requested Todoist access.
  5. Return to Dainvo and wait for the first sync.

Remove​

  1. Open Settings > Integrations.
  2. Find Todoist.
  3. Use Remove and confirm.
  4. In Todoist integrations settings, revoke Dainvo if you want provider-side access removed.

Removing Todoist from Dainvo does not delete Todoist tasks.

Troubleshooting​

  • Pending changes: use Sync now while online.
  • Conflict appears: choose the version you want to keep.
  • Tasks missing: sync again and check task visibility settings.
  • Authorization fails: reconnect Todoist and approve the requested access.
  • Deleting a Todoist task shows a reconnect message: connections made in older Dainvo versions did not include Todoist's delete permission. Use Reconnect in Settings > Integrations and approve the requested access; until then the task stays in Dainvo so nothing is lost.
