Microsoft To Do integration

Microsoft To Do lets Dainvo show and update tasks from Microsoft To Do task lists.

What syncs

Dainvo can read lists and tasks and can send supported task changes back to Microsoft To Do. Typical fields include title, body or notes, due date, status, importance, and list.

Microsoft To Do sidebar views can include Inbox, Planned, and normal task lists.

My Day and Assigned to me

Microsoft does not currently provide an API for the My Day and Assigned to me smart lists, so Dainvo cannot sync them. Use Microsoft To Do itself to manage My Day; your task edits made in Dainvo still sync normally.

Manage lists from Dainvo

Open the list picker in the task sidebar to create, rename, or delete Microsoft To Do lists. The default Tasks list cannot be renamed or deleted, and deleting a list also deletes its tasks in Microsoft To Do.

You can also move a task to another normal list when Microsoft confirms that the move is safe. Dainvo disables list moves for tasks with attachments, linked resources, third-party extensions, or provider details it cannot verify.

Steps

Open a Microsoft To Do task in Dainvo to see its Steps. You can add, rename, check off, and delete steps. Changes save to Microsoft To Do and need an online connection.

Install

  1. Open Settings > Integrations.
  2. Choose Add Microsoft To Do.
  3. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the task lists.
  4. Approve To Do task access.
  5. Return to Dainvo and wait for task sync.

If Microsoft is already connected for Outlook Calendar, choose Add Microsoft To Do to enable tasks on the same account.

Remove

  1. Open Settings > Integrations.
  2. Disable Microsoft To Do on the Microsoft account, or remove the whole Microsoft connection.
  3. For work or school accounts, revoke app permissions in the Microsoft My Apps portal if needed.

Removing Microsoft To Do from Dainvo does not delete tasks in Microsoft To Do.

Troubleshooting

  • Tasks missing: use Sync now.
  • Permission errors: reconnect Microsoft and approve Tasks access.
  • Admin approval required: ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to approve the delegated task permissions using Approve Dainvo in your organization.
  • Pending changes: keep Dainvo open and online, then sync again.
  • My Day or Assigned to me missing: Microsoft does not expose these smart lists to third-party apps, so Dainvo cannot show or sync them.
