Google Tasks integration
Google Tasks lets Dainvo show and update tasks from Google task lists.
What syncs
Dainvo can read task lists and tasks and can send supported task changes back to Google Tasks. Typical task fields include title, notes, due date, status, and list.
Google Tasks stores due dates without a reliable time of day. Dainvo keeps local display time and repeat settings for planning, but Google Tasks does not expose priority, starred, or important controls in the Dainvo task UI.
Subtasks
Right-click a Google task in the sidebar and choose Add subtask to create a child task under it. Subtasks sync to Google Tasks and indent under their parent.
Install
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Choose Add Google Tasks.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns the task lists.
- Approve the Google Tasks permission.
- Return to Dainvo and wait for task sync.
If Google is already connected for Calendar, choose Add Google Tasks to enable task sync on that same account.
Manage lists from Dainvo
Open the list picker in the task sidebar to create, rename, or delete Google Tasks lists. Deleting a list also deletes its tasks in Google Tasks, and the last remaining list cannot be deleted.
Remove
- Open Settings > Integrations.
- Disable Google Tasks on the Google account, or remove the whole Google connection.
- Revoke Dainvo from Google Account third-party connections if you want provider-side access removed.
Removing Google Tasks from Dainvo does not delete tasks in Google Tasks.
Troubleshooting
- Tasks missing: use Sync now.
- Pending changes: keep Dainvo open and online, then sync again.
- Permission error: reconnect Google and approve Tasks access.
- No priority controls: Google Tasks does not provide writable priority, starred, or important fields.
- Assigned tasks from some Google surfaces may be read-only depending on Google Tasks behavior.
