Shortcuts, reminders, and command palette

Dainvo includes settings for desktop reminders, keyboard shortcuts, and command-palette actions so common planning work can stay fast without bypassing normal event, task, and bucket flows.

Desktop reminders

Event reminder notifications are delivered while the desktop app is running. Notification settings control whether reminders are delivered, reminder sound behavior, whether recently missed reminders appear after refresh, and a test notification action.

If reminders do not appear, confirm notifications are enabled in Dainvo and in your operating system notification settings.

Keyboard shortcuts

Open Settings > Shortcuts to review or edit shortcut assignments.

Defaults include shortcuts for:

  • Command palette
  • Create command palette
  • Sync all accounts
  • Create event
  • Create bucket
  • Open today's Dainvo Daily Note
  • Create task
  • Complete or reopen the selected task

Some accessibility and modal-control shortcuts are locked so dismissal, activation, focus trapping, row controls, and resize handles remain predictable.

Command palette

The command palette fuzzy-searches explicit app commands such as creating a task, creating an event, creating a bucket, switching views, navigating, and syncing.

Commands open the existing Dainvo flows. The command palette does not directly create records from free-form text and does not provide autonomous AI scheduling in the current app.

Appearance and motion

Appearance settings include system, light, and dark themes, comfortable and compact density, reduced motion, and native desktop menu bar visibility.

The calendar UI follows the resolved theme so settings, modals, alerts, and dense calendar views stay consistent after a theme change.

Troubleshooting

  • Reminder missing: confirm Dainvo is running and notifications are enabled in both Dainvo and the operating system.
  • Shortcut conflict: record a different shortcut in Settings > Shortcuts.
  • Shortcut cannot be edited: the action may be locked for accessibility or modal behavior.
  • Command not found: use the explicit command name, such as Create task, Create event, Create bucket, Sync all accounts, or Open today's Daily Note.
