Calendar weather and time zones
Dainvo can show weather beside calendar context and can display the calendar in the time zone you are planning against.
Calendar weather
Weather icons and temperatures can appear in day, week, and agenda list views after weather is enabled and a weather location is selected.
Dainvo uses Open-Meteo data:
- Today uses current local weather data with an animated icon and current temperature.
- Future days use forecast data with the daily high temperature.
- Past days use daytime Open-Meteo Archive historical weather with the archived daily high.
Weather is display-only. It does not create events, change reminders, or affect sync. Weather is available on every version of Dainvo.
Turn on weather
- Open Settings.
- Go to Calendar.
- Enable calendar weather.
- Choose a weather location.
- Choose a temperature unit, or leave the unit on system.
The system temperature unit uses Fahrenheit for United States region settings and Celsius elsewhere. You can also set Fahrenheit or Celsius explicitly.
Hover or focus a weather icon to see available high/low, feels-like temperature, wind, precipitation, and provider warning details.
Calendar views
Dainvo includes day, week, month, agenda/list, and year views. Day and week views are best for scheduling work. Agenda/list view is useful for scanning upcoming items. Year view is useful for longer-range planning and can use the selected year-view style from Settings > General.
Weather appears where the app has daily calendar headers or agenda rows that can carry a compact weather icon. It does not appear on every calendar surface.
Current calendar time zone
Open Settings > General and use the time-zone controls to choose the current calendar time zone.
The current calendar time zone controls how Dainvo reads calendar days, positions timed items, opens day/week/month/year ranges, and creates new scheduled work from calendar clicks or drags.
You can leave the current calendar time zone on System default or choose a specific time zone such as America/Vancouver, Europe/London, or Asia/Tokyo.
Other time zones
Use Other time zones in Settings > General to pin additional zones for quick comparison.
In day and week views, the time-axis label can switch the visible calendar time zone. When quick view is enabled, hovering calendar hour labels shows the configured zones with their offsets and local times for that row.
Pinned time zones are for display and planning context. They do not change provider account settings, event ownership, or the original provider time zone stored for synced events.
Troubleshooting
- Weather is missing: confirm weather is enabled and a location is selected in Settings > Calendar.
- Weather still does not show: switch to day, week, or agenda/list view.
- Temperatures use the wrong unit: set Fahrenheit or Celsius directly instead of System.
- Time-zone quick view is missing: open Settings > General and confirm Show timezone quick view on calendar is enabled.
- A day starts at the wrong time: confirm the current calendar time zone in Settings > General.
