Delete your Dainvo account and data
This page applies to Dainvo: Calendar & Tasks on Android and iOS, the Dainvo desktop app on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and your Dainvo Account at users.dainvo.com.
Email Dainvo Support to request account deletion
You can use this public request option even if you have uninstalled Dainvo or cannot sign in to the app. Send the request from the email address used for your Dainvo Account when possible. Include a clear statement that you want your Dainvo account and associated data permanently deleted.
Never send your password, sign-in code, recovery code, or provider access token. Dainvo Support may ask for other information to verify that you own the account.
:::warning Permanent action
Account deletion cannot be undone. Signing out, removing a device, disconnecting an integration, or uninstalling Dainvo does not delete your Dainvo Account.
:::
Before requesting deletion
- Save or export anything you want to keep.
- If you have a subscription billed through Dainvo and Stripe, manage billing and cancel it first. If access remains active until the end of the billing period, wait for that period to end or contact Dainvo Support. An active, trialing, or past-due Stripe subscription blocks automated account deletion.
- If a purchase or subscription is managed by Apple or another app store, manage or cancel it in that store. Deleting your Dainvo Account does not cancel a store-managed purchase or subscription.
- Disconnect or revoke connected services if you also want to stop Dainvo's provider access. Deleting a Dainvo Account does not delete events, tasks, messages, meetings, or other content held by Google, Microsoft, Apple, Todoist, TickTick, Zoom, Webex, or another connected service.
Request deletion on Android or iOS
The current Dainvo mobile account screen can sign your device out, but signing out is not account deletion.
To request full deletion from an Android phone, iPhone, or iPad, use the deletion option in your Dainvo Account portal from a mobile browser (see Delete your account at users.dainvo.com below), or request deletion by email:
- Use the account-deletion email link on this page.
- Send the request from your Dainvo Account email address when possible.
- Complete any ownership verification requested by Dainvo Support.
- Resolve any active subscription or managed-workspace requirement that Support identifies.
- Wait for confirmation that the account and associated Dainvo-hosted data were deleted.
After confirmation, remove data still stored on the device:
- Android: clear Dainvo's storage in Android Settings, then uninstall the app. Menu names vary by Android version and device manufacturer.
- iPhone or iPad: use Settings > General > iPhone Storage or iPad Storage > Dainvo > Delete App. Offloading the app can retain its documents and data, so use Delete App when you want the local data removed.
Delete your account in the desktop app
The desktop app provides authenticated account deletion on macOS, Windows, and Linux:
- Open Settings.
- Select Dainvo Account.
- Scroll to Danger Zone.
- Type
DELETEin the confirmation field. - Select Delete account.
If Dainvo accepts the request, it deletes the account and signs the desktop app out. If the app reports an error, the account has not been confirmed as deleted; resolve the displayed issue or use the public deletion request.
Deleting the cloud account cannot remotely erase data from a device that is offline. After deletion, uninstall Dainvo and remove its local application data on every macOS, Windows, or Linux device where you no longer want that data stored.
Delete your account at users.dainvo.com
Your Dainvo Account portal provides authenticated account deletion from any web browser, including on a phone or on a device where Dainvo is not installed:
- Sign in at users.dainvo.com.
- Open the Account page.
- Scroll to Danger Zone.
- Type
DELETEin the confirmation field. - Select Delete account.
If Dainvo accepts the request, it deletes the account and signs the portal out. If the portal reports an error, the account has not been confirmed as deleted; resolve the displayed issue, such as cancelling an active Stripe subscription from the Billing page, or use the public deletion request.
Portal deletion requires signing in. If you cannot sign in, use the email request option at the top of this page. Deleting the account in the portal does not remove local Dainvo data still stored on your devices; see the sections above for removing local app data.
What Dainvo deletes
When Dainvo completes account deletion, the active Dainvo-hosted account records associated with the account are deleted, including:
- the Dainvo authentication account and active Dainvo sessions;
- the Dainvo profile, display name, profile image, and saved profile addresses;
- registered Dainvo devices and Dainvo access or license links associated with the account;
- Dainvo-hosted task projects, tasks, scheduling blocks, reminders, tags, attachments or link metadata, recurrence data, provider-link metadata, and task-sync state associated with the account; and
- other active Dainvo service records that are configured to be deleted with the authentication account.
This deletion does not send delete commands for content held in a connected provider account.
What may remain and for how long
| Data | What happens | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Active Dainvo account and associated Dainvo-hosted app data | Deleted when account deletion completes | No standard post-deletion retention in the active account tables |
| Local app data on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, or Linux | Cannot be erased remotely from every device; you must clear app storage, delete the app, or remove its local application data | Until you remove it from each device |
| Content and account records held by connected providers | Controlled by the provider and your actions in that provider account | Under the provider's retention policy, until you delete it there, or as otherwise required by that provider |
| App-store, payment, invoice, refund, and transaction records | Controlled independently by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another billing provider; legally required Dainvo business records may also remain | For the period required by the provider's policy, applicable tax/accounting law, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or other legal obligations |
| Account-deletion request and support records | Dainvo may retain the request email, request and completion timestamps, outcome, and related support correspondence to document the request, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with law | Only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes; there is no single fixed period because legal and operational requirements vary |
| Managed-workspace security and audit records | A workspace owner or Dainvo may need to retain limited records under an organization policy, contract, or legal requirement; retaining a required record does not keep the deleted Dainvo Account active | For the workspace's configured or contractually required retention period, or the applicable legal period |
Dainvo completes verified requests as soon as reasonably possible after identity, subscription, and managed-workspace requirements are resolved. If a law requires or permits a limited record to be retained, Dainvo keeps only the record needed for that purpose and deletes or anonymizes it when the applicable retention need ends.
For more information, read the Dainvo Privacy Policy.
Partial data deletion
This page is the request path for deleting a full Dainvo Account and its associated Dainvo-hosted data. Dainvo does not currently offer a separate public request process for partial data deletion without deleting the account.
You can still use normal app and provider controls to edit or delete individual tasks, events, reminders, integration connections, and other items where those controls are available.
