Customize settings, defaults, and reminders
Settings lets you make Dainvo behave the way you plan.
General settings
Use General to choose the app language, date and time format, calendar time zone behavior, and whether Dainvo keeps running in the background when you close the window. The default calendar view, week start day, default event length, and year view style are set in the Calendar Display card in Settings > Calendar.
The App language setting can follow your system language or use a specific supported language. It changes Dainvo-owned app controls, settings, calendar labels, dialogs, notifications, and app-owned messages. It does not translate user-created content or provider account names.
The Timezones controls let you choose the current calendar time zone on every plan. Pinning additional time zones and showing the quick time-zone comparison are Dainvo Pro features. Free accounts keep those controls visible with a Pro badge and upgrade action.
Appearance
Use Appearance to choose light, dark, or system theme. You can also control interface density. Weekends, week numbers, reduced motion, and the native desktop menu bar are controlled from the Calendar Display card in Settings > Calendar.
Calendar
Calendar settings control calendar display, local calendars, weather, Daily Notes, the default calendar, reminders, availability and visibility for new events, and Teams join behavior. The Calendar Display card sets the default calendar view, week start day, default event length, year view style, weekends, week numbers, reduced motion, and the native desktop menu bar. If you connect multiple calendars, set the calendar you use most often as the default.
Default event visibility applies to new Google and Outlook events. The provider's own default remains in effect when you do not choose a specific visibility. You can still change the setting for an individual event when that calendar supports it.
Weather icons and temperatures can appear in day, week, and agenda list views after you turn on weather and choose a weather location. Dainvo shows today's current conditions, forecast highs for future days, and historical highs for past days when weather data is available. The temperature unit can stay automatic, using Fahrenheit for United States region settings and Celsius elsewhere, or be set explicitly to Fahrenheit or Celsius. Hover or focus a weather icon to see high/low, feels-like temperature, wind, and precipitation details when available. Weather is display-only and available on every version.
The Local section in Calendar settings manages writable calendars owned by Dainvo. You can rename local calendars, change their colors, show or hide them on the calendar, and use Add Calendar to keep a writable local calendar available for Dainvo events and task blocks. Provider calendars remain under Integrations.
ICS import/export is also available from Settings for supported calendar data.
Dainvo Daily Notes can be enabled here. Choose a save location first, or use the default Dainvo Notes folder in your Documents folder. After Dainvo Daily Notes are enabled and the folder is configured, Dainvo shows Dainvo Notes buttons on supported calendar days.
Obsidian Daily Notes are separate. They require a paired Obsidian vault and use the selected vault's Daily Notes settings.
Tasks
Task settings control where new task blocks are scheduled and how long they should be when no end time is selected.
Default task lengths include common options such as 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Choose the length that matches how you usually plan focused work.
You can use one default writable calendar for every task account or choose a separate default for Dainvo Tasks and each connected task account. A calendar chosen in the task editor becomes that task's preferred calendar for future scheduling. If the saved calendar is unavailable, Dainvo falls back to another writable calendar.
You can also choose whether Dainvo Tasks, synced tasks, completed task blocks, and all-day synced tasks are visible. My Day and Inbox are Dainvo Pro features. Free accounts can see their settings and app-rail destinations in a muted locked state, but cannot open or load them. For Pro accounts, Show overdue tasks in Inbox controls whether open tasks with a due date or deadline before today appear in Inbox. Obsidian task settings can show or hide imported vault tasks and hide blank checkbox tasks.
Integrations
Use Integrations to connect, sync, reconnect, remove, or disable supported integrations. Google and Microsoft accounts can have individual feature toggles for supported calendar, task, and meeting features. Outlook Email appears on Microsoft account rows when email capture is available. Obsidian supports optional local desktop pairing, while direct plugin-to-mobile task sync is enabled from the plugin with Dainvo browser sign-in. On Windows and macOS, a Free account can keep four integration features active; additional connection and enable controls stay visible as muted Pro upgrade actions. Pro accounts have unlimited integrations.
Account addresses
Use Account addresses to save a home address and a work address to your Dainvo account. Alpha, paid, and Development accounts can search Google for each address, choose the correct map result, and open saved addresses in Google Maps.
Manual account settings remain available without Google location search.
Notifications
Use Notifications to turn desktop reminders on or off, control reminder sound, show recently missed reminders, and send a test notification.
Notifications work while the app is running.
Shortcuts
Use Shortcuts to review and change keyboard shortcuts. If a shortcut conflicts with another app or your system, record a different shortcut. The command palette can launch common actions such as creating events, tasks, buckets, switching views, and syncing accounts.
Advanced settings
Advanced settings are for diagnostics and recovery. Use them only when troubleshooting or when asked during support.
